Just in: We just found out why Trump WON’T be picking Chris Christie for VP

Many of us didn’t expect Ben Carson or Chris Christie to endorse Donald Trump for the presidency, but both have now secured roles in his campaign.

Carson has been appointed to lead the search committee for Trump’s VP, and given what was just reported about Chris Christie, we can be pretty sure he’s not going to be that pick.

Donald Trump announced on Monday that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will lead the transition team if the billionaire businessman wins the presidential election.

“Governor Christie is an extremely knowledgeable and loyal person with the tools and resources to put together an unparalleled Transition Team, one that will be prepared to take over the White House when we win in November,” the presumptive nominee said in a statement. “I am grateful to Governor Christie for his contributions to this movement.”

Said Christie, who backed Trump after dropping his own bid for the GOP presidential nomination: “I am honored by the confidence being placed in me by Mr. Trump and look forward to putting together a first rate team to assemble an administration to help best serve the President-elect and the nation.”

Christie endorsed the New York businessman in February, making him an early backer of Trump. At the time, he said that Trump is “the clear standout, and the person who will do exactly what needs to be done to make America a leader around the world again.”

In the early 2000’s there was a popular chain email circulating with eleven pieces of advice you won’t learn in school, one being “Be nice to nerds. You may end up working for them.” I think a similar statement has held true in this election: be nice to your fellow candidates, because you may end up working for them.
